Sears Announces More Store Closures, Including One In Sacramento
By on October 15, 2018
Sears recently announced that they were filing bankruptcy. In August, it was reported that 46 stores would be closed. However, another 142 Sears and Kmart stores have been added to that list. That leaves less than 700 of both stores nationwide.
“As we look toward the holiday season, Sears and Kmart stores remain open for business and our dedicated associates look forward to serving our members and customers,” Sears chairman Eddie Lampert said in a statement.
The first round of closures included locations in Citrus Heights and Roseville. This newest round includes the Florin Towne Center Sears at 5901 Florin Rd. According to USA Today, liquidation sales will begin in the next couple of weeks.
Additionally, USA Today mentions that if an agreement isn’t reached, all stores could close in the near future.
