Katie Rae, a mom from Sacramento is the first person to join Ariana Grande’s team on the new season of ‘The Voice’.

When Rae began to sing in the blind auditions John Legend and Kelly Clarkson immediately turned their chairs. First-time coach Ariana Grande quickly followed.

While Rae says she tends to sing R & B, she chose “The Bones” by Maren Morris for her audition, because it spoke to her as she was dealing with postpartum depression after the birth of her son.

Everyone loves her voice. Kelly called her lower register “magical,” like “sizzling butter.” But in the end, it’s Ariana wooed Katie to her team.

“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays nights on KCRA 3.
