Sacramento Is Haunted!?
You read it right! Ditch the haunted houses this year because we have a few places you can visit that are local and definitely known to be haunted. And if you see a ghost…don’t say we didn’t warn you!
1. Delta King
The boat was originally made in 1927 to take people from Sacramento to San Francisco. After being used by the Navy in World War II, it was abandoned. It’s since been renovated into a hotel, restaurant, and theater, but people believe they have seen the original captain sitting on the balcony during performances, water being spilled, and footsteps. There has also been sightings of a little girl, according to CBS Local. Get more info about Delta King HERE!
2. Old Sacramento Under Ground Tunnel
Sacramento used to get flooded by the American and Sacramento River in it’s earlier days. To solve the problem, they decided to actually raise the streets up twenty feet higher! Some business owners have access to the under ground tunnels and have heard strange noises coming from them. Some even claim they have seen ghosts. You can now take guided tours of the tunnel through the city.
3. Sacramento Theater Company
The Sacramento Theater Company, previously known as the Sacramento Civic Repertory Theatre, has been around since 1942. It’s said to be one of the most haunted places in Sacramento! They say up to five ghosts live in the building, including a former theater manager, a stagehand, and opera singer, and two Hungarian lovers. People have seen buttons popping off costumes and lights flickering, as well as whispers and more!
There are rumors that our own radio station is haunted, so if you ever stop by, BEWARE!
