Greg Young of Roseville won some big honors in a one the highest award in a national competition. He won two gold medals for his lagers and also won the Samuel Adams Ninkasi Award for scoring the most points at a homebrewer competition in Oregon. And, what make it even more impressive is he was competing against more than 8,400 homebrewers from 18 countries. Young has only been a homebrewer since 2015 and gives credit to the many local brewers who have given him advice and, (maybe most surprisingly) he credits the quality of Roseville’s tap water, which he uses to make his beer. While he works locally in healthcare, Young says it’d be his dream to share his beer with the public.
