Roseville is seeing a large rise in medical construction projects, which will reportedly be leading to the creation of thousands of new jobs.

According to KCRA, multiple construction projects related to the medical field are currently underway. The largest one in development is a new headquarters campus, near Sunrise and Eureka road, for Adventist Health. The first phase of the construction project will consist of a 280,000 square-foot glass exterior building. Regarding the expanding medical development and projected boom in job openings, Roseville economic development director, Laura Matteoli, said: “We are expecting another 2,000 or more jobs in the near future.”

Several other health care related projects are currently underway as well, including a new 190,000 sq. ft. office building for Kaiser at I-80 and Riverside. Sutter Roseville hospital will also be getting a 90,000 sq. ft. Acute Care Facility, and UC Davis has their own plan for a 52,000 sq. ft. project as well.

KCRA reports that the health care field in Roseville has expanded quickly, leading to medical being ranked the number 2-ranked job sector, with almost one out of five jobs being in the medical field. The reported factors contributing to this rapid rise are focused efforts by the city to attract health care jobs, an older population that is growing and needing medical care, and large availability of housing to help attract health care professionals.
