Raley’s Closing Tahoe Store At Heavenly Village

Soon shoppers will have to drive to Emerald Bay

South Lake Tahoe is losing its go-to grocery store. For 60 years, Raley’s at Heavenly Village has been the familiar place for vacationers to grab some groceries, a sandwich or cup of coffee before hitting the beach, slopes or hiking the trails.

After trying to negotiate a new lease for about a year – no agreement was able to be reached. The store will be closing in June. The focus now moves to relocating the employees to other stores.

Meanwhile, the Raley’s location near Emerald Bay remains open. No word on what will take over the space Raley’s leave behind at Heavenly Village.
