Parking Enforcement Officer Tickets Ambulance
A parking enforcement officer wrote a parking ticket to an ambulance after the on-call paramedics parked to get water from a convenience store.

So a parking enforcement officer wrote a parking ticket when an ambulance parked in a “no parking” zone. We’ve all probably had a parking ticket at some point, they’re never fun. Sometimes the rules make no sense and you figured it was safe at that moment. Or maybe you just had to run into some place for 30 seconds and thought you were all clear. It happens.
This parking officer wasn’t letting anyone slide. A paramedic was in the middle of her 12-hour shift with her co-workers when they wanted to stop to grab some water. They parked near a convenience store, and before she was even able to go in to buy her water, the officer struck. He began issuing a citation for where she parked the ambulance.
Granted, yes, it was a no-parking zone, BUT, the ambulance is too large for regular spots. The parking officer told her to park in a disabled parking spot instead. But isn’t that illegal too, Mr. Parking Officer? The parking officer was caught on video saying that it’s not possible the paramedic was on-call because they were stopped for lunch. “It’s not on call, she was having lunch. Where’s the sirens?,” says the officer. A witness recording the event says “They don’t use the sirens when they’re parked up you idiot… If their radio goes they have to go.”
So there are a few things at play here. YES, the ambulance was parked in a no-parking zone. BUT, should that be given a pass? Like if a police officer parks somewhere, or a fire engine? The parking officer did his job, yes, but should he have let it go? More info and video here.
