The US Geological Survey reports a swarm of earthquakes along the San Andreas Fault rumbled through the Hollister and Salinas area this morning.

Most of the quakes were centered at Tres Pino, just south of Hollister. The latest registering a 2.0 magnitude struck at 9:21 a.m.

The first and largest of the swarm struck at 5:58 a.m. That one registered 4.1. Three minutes later, at 5:01 a.m. a magnitude 3.2 struck the same area, according to the USGS.

Within a span of five hours, 11 quakes shook the same area. According to SFGate, “There was no initial word on damage or injury resulting from the quakes, but the USGS said the quakes were widely and strongly felt in nearby Hollister followed by Salinas, Gonzales, Monterey, Carmel Valley and Santa Cruz.”

People took to Twitter to report the shaking.
