NorCal School Districts Preparing For Coronavirus Outbreaks

The CDC confirmed that there has been what could be the first instance in the U.S. of community spread of COVID-19. Although the patient “had no known exposure to the virus through travel or close contact with a known infected individual,” there will still be precautions taken. The CDC has since reached out to Northern California school districts to prepare for the spread of the virus. Officials said they have plans in place for preventative measures but until more information surfaces the CDC recommends students and teachers to “frequently wash their hands, cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing and to stay home if they are sick”.

Two college students in Sacramento were exposed to a person who tested positive for the virus, they have shown no signs of the illness however both were told to stay home and monitor their own health.
