Netflix is picking up Keifer Sutherland’s ‘Designated Survivor’, after it was cancelled in May by ABC. Well Netflix to the rescue. They’ve ordered a 10-episode Season 3. In the season 2 finale, Sutherland’s character, President Kirkman, announced a bid for re-election. Netflix says season 3 will, “explore today’s world of campaigning, smear tactics, debates, campaign finance and ‘fake news.’” As you can imagine, fans, including the cast are excited with Sutherland saying in a statement, “I believe this format will allow us to continue to delve deeply into storylines and issues concerning the American electorate that were not previously possible.” Season 3 of Designated Survivor is expected to premiere sometime next year.
