Northern California kicked of the New Year with an atmospheric river dumping rain, flooding roadways, leaving thousands without power and trees down all across the region. It’s not over yet. The next big storm is expected to move in Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, we need to be prepared for storms to continue the first week of 2023.

Wednesday and Thursday (Jan 4 & 5): The second atmospheric river of the week will bring more rain and strong winds to Sacramento. Be prepared for significant downpours especially Wednesday afternoon/evening. More flooding is possible as creeks and streams could overflow and the roadways could be dangerous.

Friday thru Monday (Jan 6 – 9): Mostly unsettled weather. Off and on rain showers could bring moderate to heavy precipitation

If you think you’ll need sandbags, HERE and HERE are locations where they are available.
