When it comes to tattoos, it’s always a good idea to check and double check spelling. When a Swedish mom saw that her tattoo artist misspelled her son’s name, she made the best of the situation.

Instead of going through the painful and expensive removal process, Johanna Giselhäll Sandström, 30, changed her kid’s name. Thus, Kevin became Kelvin. She told local newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning:

“I thought I was going to faint. I said I wanted the names of my children tattooed on me and I gave the artist their names. The artist drew the design and didn’t ask anything about the spelling so I didn’t give it any more thought.”

Johanna didn’t notice until later that the tattoo was misspelled. When she returned to the shop, the artist laughed and said he couldn’t do anything but offer a refund. So the mom and her husband decided to legally change Kevin’s name, who was about two at the time.

Luckily, everyone in the family has come to love how unique the name Kelvin is, including Kelvin.

Now that Johanna welcomed her third child, Freya, she’s going to be getting fresh ink again. But, this time, she’s taking extra precaution!

“I’m going to write it down on a piece of paper and check it over 10,000 times,” she said.
