This Monday, January 17th is MLK Day, the only National Holiday that is observed as a National Day of Service; “a day on, not a day off.” If you have the day off work, have you considered using it to honor the legacy of Dr King by making our community better & stronger? There are LOTS of opportunities to volunteer in California. In fact, if you go to this site and enter your zip code, you’ll get a list of the MANY opportunities to serve, right in your own neighborhood.

There’s also a great list of ways to serve both nationally and from your own home found here.

If you have time, please check out the various nonprofits that we’ve visited through our Good Deeds program. There are LOTS of volunteer opportunities with groups doing great things in our community!

Last, but definitely NOT least. Just Serve has a huge list of organizations that are making a difference in our community every day. Browse and see if something fits your interests and talents. Just enter your zip code and find something close to home.

Thanks for spending your “day off” making our world a better place!
