Due to listeria concerns, Mann’s Packaging Company of Salina’s California is issuing the recall of items including veggie trays, mixes and bowls sold under nearly a dozen different brands.
The massive recall affects various vegetable and ready meal products under the brand names Del Monte, HEB, Hungryroot, Kroger Organic, Mann’s, Walmart’s Marketside line, O Organics, Signature Farms, Sysco and Trader Joe’s. The recalled products have a “Best If Enjoyed By” date of October 11, 2019 to November 16, 2019. The recall affects both the U.S. and Canada. If you have any of the U.S. products mentioned HERE, you’re being urged to throw them away. Canadian products are listed HERE.
“Mann Packing is issuing this recall out of an abundance of caution. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only
short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Mann Packing will continue to work closely with the authorities to investigate the issue,” Mann Packaging said in a statement.
