In Marilyn’s words
My passion for radio started at Southeast Missouri State University. After becoming friends with the DJs at the college radio station I decided to major in Mass Communications. It wasn’t long before I had my first “real” radio job at a local station in my college town of Cape Girardeau, MO. Then on a whim in 1987 I decided to pack up everything and head to California. I landed in Sacramento where my roots have grown deep.
Sacramento is definitely home now, and I’ve been fortunately able to feed my passion of being a broadcaster for over 25 years in this wonderful town. I began a career as a traffic reporter on many top morning radio shows, and for over 15 years I have called Mix 96 my home.
My pride and joy are my husband of over 20 years, Bryan, and our two very entertaining teenage daughters, Miranda and Angie. When I’m not working, I’m annoying my kids, obsessing over my dog, constantly experimenting with healthy cooking and living life.
