The singer will be working as a mentor for the show’s knockout rounds, which begin on Oct. 29. “The sessions with the contestants, some of them have completely blown me away,” CNN reports Carey said. “It’s like a humbling experience to be around all the raw talent.”
News of Carey’s Voice appearance comes after she previously went on record to swear off talent shows. She was very vocal about her bad experience as a judge on American Idol, where she constantly butted heads with Nicki Minaj.
It’s great to hear that Carey is willing to have another go lending her talents to help groom contestants on The Voice. Hopefully, she’ll have a better experience this time around! She’ll start to feature on the NBC show on Monday, Oct. 29 at 8 pm E.T.
