A lottery ticket sold at a Stockton convenience store was just one number away from winning the record-breaking jackpot.

With the jackpot reaching a gigantic $1.5 billion on Tuesday evening, people across the country rushed to get their tickets for the drawing. According to KCRA, a ticket sold at the Country Marketplace on West Charter Way in Stockton was just shy of the big prize. The ticket managed to match all five of the numbers on the white balls, but missed the mega number on the gold ball.

Eight tickets sold in California reportedly missed the grand jackpot by just one number. Each of these second prize winners will be taking home $562,472. Lotteries in California reportedly calculate the value of lesser prizes off the number of players in a drawing and winners with matching tickets.

On the day of the drawing, the Country Marketplace in Stockton was packed with people wanting to grab their tickets before the deadline. Many locals and loyal customers believe the store is an extra lucky place to buy lottery tickets.
