With the fires burning in Napa and Sonoma Counties, a lot of people who had trips planned to California’s famed wine country are shifting their plans south, to Lodi. While the area’s nearly 100 wineries are welcoming unexpected visitors, it’s bittersweet with the fire devastation happening in Napa.

So, Lodi wineries are teaming up to help. The Sip Shuttle, which gives Lodi wine tours, is collecting donations of bottled water, personal hygiene items, food, pet food and more, from 18 area wineries and then they’ll shuttle everything up to Napa. Lots of businesses are also taking donations at their stores or wine shops. And the Lodi Wine Commission just announced that several tasting rooms, restaurants and hotels are pledging to donate a portion of their proceeds to Wine Country relief efforts. Some wineries in Lodi will even donate one dollar a bottle through the end of the month.
