It turns out that filming of the last Game of Thrones season was intense. Kit Harrington, Jon Snow on the show, explained that the final stretch left the cast rather thankful for the end!
According to GQ Australia, season 8 took nine grueling months to film. The actor shared with the publication:
“The last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us. Everyone was broken at the end. I don’t know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so f**king tiring. We were sleep deprived. It was like it was designed to make you think, ‘Right, I’m f**king sick of this.'”

Harrington’s comments make us wonder just what happened on set! Especially because the final season is only six episodes long, instead of ten. It seems as though the reality of the series’ end might hit the cast later, after they’ve recovered from the last season’s production process. “I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, ‘I’ve had enough now,’ the actor added. “‘I love this, it’s been the best thing in my life, I’ll miss it one day – but I’m done.’”
Season 8 of Game of Thrones is set to premiere on HBO in April.
