Police finally caught the man who tried extorting Kevin Hart over his sex tape. Shockingly, it’s not just some random criminal; it’s actually Hart’s close friend, Jonathan Todd Jackson…
According to TMZ, Jackson, who goes by J.T., has been friends with the actor for over fifteen years. The two often post photos of each other on social media, and Jackson even attended Hart’s bachelor party. On top of all that, he also appeared in Hart’s movie, Think Like a Man Too.
Upon hearing the news, Hart took to Twitter to express his shock, saying:

Jackson allegedly tried to extort a large amount of money from the actor in return for keeping the video secret. The video, which went viral late last year, depicts Hart cheating on his wife in a Las Vegas hotel room.

While Hart initially denied being in the video, he later apologized to his pregnant wife for his infidelity. However, both Hart and the woman in the video had no idea they were on camera, leading the FBI to take on the case.
Thankfully, for the most part, it all appears to have worked out in the end. Jackson is now facing two felony counts of attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter. He’s also likely blacklisted from Hart’s life, which is probably for the best.
