Katy Perry is planning on taking a significant break from music after she wraps Witness: The Tour. After working nonstop for almost a decade, she certainly deserves it!

“I’ve been on the road for like 10 years, so I’m just going to chill. I’m not going to go straight into making another record,” Perry told Footwear News. “I feel like I’ve done a lot. I feel like I’ve rung the bell of being a pop star very loudly, and I’m very grateful for that.”

One of the big reasons she feels it’s OK for her to take a step back is that she feels established enough in the industry. “I love making music, I love writing,” she continued. “But I don’t feel like I’m a part of a game anymore. I just feel like I’m an artist. I don’t feel like I have to prove anything, which is a freeing feeling.”

Can’t wait to see what more Perry has in store after she makes her inevitable comeback!
