Jessica Simpson is slowly making her way back into the spotlight. She’s planning on returning to both reality TV and music!
It’s been over 10 years since her popular show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, ended. She’s doing her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson Ross, a favor by appearing on her new E! Network show, Ashlee+Evan.
“I’m on their show, definitely, a for a big moment,” Simpson told E! News. “But really, the show is about their discovery in their music and in their relationship. It’s very exciting. They’re so cute together. I’m excited for the world to see what I’ve already seen.”
Simpson admitted that one of the reasons she’s stayed away from TV is because of her infamous “Chicken by the Sea” remark. For those who need a refresher, she asked her then-husband, Nick Lachey, “Is this chicken what I have, or is this fish? It says Chicken By The Sea.”
“I mean, being on reality TV definitely makes me hyperventilate a little bit,” she said. “I’m not one for being mic’ed up all day. I stick my foot in my mouth too much.”
Simpson does, however, find the humor in the situation now. She also revealed at Beautycon that she’s recording a new song after seven years away from the music scene.
In the time that she’s spent away from reality television and music, Simpson has been working on her Jessica Simpson Collection brand.
