Jennifer Lopez And Will Smith Were In Early Talks For ‘A Star Is Born’
Jennifer Lopez revealed that she and Will Smith had conversations early on about developing the script for ‘A Star is Born.’

As it turns out, Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith were almost the lead actors in A Star is Born.
Lopez recently spoke with Extra, addressing rumors that she and Smith were involved early on in production:
“Will and I talked about it and talked about developing the script. It just never took off. Projects are like that.”
According to Glamour, the two split from the film around 2013, after which some other high profile names became briefly attached. For one, Clint Eastwood showed interest in the project. Not only that, but he reportedly attempted to get Beyoncé and Leonardo DiCaprio as the leads!

In the end, of course, Bradley Cooper became director for the movie and brought in Lady Gaga to star alongside him. The rest is history.
“I’m really proud of Bradley,” Lopez added. “One, for directing his first film… we’re friends, and watching Gaga kind of do her thing in the movie, it’s just great. It’s perfect, just like this movie, everything happens in its own divine timing.”
