One of Woodland’s most beloved Victorian’s, the Gable Mansion, just hit the market for $3.8 million.

“It’s the price you might pay for a two-bedroom condo in a posh neighborhood in the city — only this property comes with six bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half baths spread across nearly 12,000 square feet and all surrounded by a meticulously landscaped yard with a swimming pool,” according to SFGate.

Woodland takes great pride in its history. Fortunately, that history includes splendid Victorians scattered about the picturesque small town.

In the heart of town is the Gable Mansion dating back more than 130 years. This lovely piece of California’s history even has it’s own Wikipedia page.

The home was built by brothers Amos and Harvey Gable, two successful pioneer ranchers. The home was designed and built for only $16,000 in 1885. Unfortunately, It fell into disrepair in the 1970’s. When a new owner purchased the landmark they began extensive renovations with some modern upgrades.

According to CalEXPLORnia, the dug out basement now contains a theater with a ticket booth, indoor swimming pool, and wine cellar.

The unfinished attic has been converted into a living space with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and gym.
