Finally! A pandemic-inspired trend that’s good! Experts say that “hybrid dating” is here to stay! Hybrid dating is where you get to know someone virtually, through Zoom or Facetime before you actually meet in person. Even after you meet, hybrid dating is a mix of virtual meetings as well as in-person meet-ups. Experts say this new trend in dating, unlike most, is actually healthy. Virtual dates are cheaper and more convenient, as well as less stressful, as you’re in a comfortable space, with a screen separating you from a stranger. Another benefit to getting to know someone virtually first……if you don’t like them, it’s much easier to disconnect and move on.

One caution, though…..experts say if you are also using Zoom for work meetings, you should try to make your Zoom date environment as different from that as possible. Try different lighting, backgrounds, even a different part of your house…..to put you in a different mindset. One woman tells the “New Yorker” that she has a whole pre-Zoom date ritual that involves meditation and essential oils.

Here’s to a happy and healthy hybrid dating experience!
