How Long You Can Keep Thanksgiving Leftovers

Do you still have leftovers from Thanksgiving in your refrigerator? It might be just about time to get rid of them. Here’s some guidelines on how long you can keep them, according to FoodSafety.gov.

Turkey: You shouldn’t eat the turkey more than three to four days after it was cooked, But leftover turkey is easily frozen, and stored up to three months in the freezer. According to these guidelines, any leftover turkey in your fridge right now should be thrown out by tonight, at the latest..so hurry up and eat it.

Gravy: Refrigerated homemade gravy is OK to eat for one to two, but it will last two to three months in the freezer.

Stuffing/dressing: Stuffing or dressing is good for three to four days in the fridge or a month in the freezer.

Mashed potatoes, yams and green bean casserole: Those vegetable-based sides are can last about three to five days in the fridge and up to a year in the freezer.

Pumpkin pie: If refrigerated properly pumpkin pie is only good for three to four days. It can last up to two months in the freezer though.
