FREE Mulch Up For Grabs This Weekend
Grab a shovel and load up on FREE mulch Saturday, 5/21/22

Dump a big pile of mulch in your flower beds and around your trees. Your plants will thank you. We all know how brutally hot Sacramento summers are. Mulch helps to slow evaporation and keeps soil cool.
So, grab a shovel and head to one of the following location for Mulch Mayhem between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, 5/22:
Sacramento: South Area Corporation Yard Parking Lot – 5730 24th Street in Sacramento
Sacramento: Sacramento Suburban Water District Facility – 917 Enterprise Dr., Sacramento
Carmichael: Carmichael Water District – 7837 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael
“Free mulch is available to customers of hosting water agencies, is limited to one yard per household and must be for personal use only.” According to BeWaterSmart.com, “Mulch will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies are gone. Contact hosting water providers for details.”
Along with a shovel, you’ll need a tarp and a container to carry your free mulch home.

SMUD also offers free wood chips to its customers at SMUD Yard – 6100 Folsom Blvd. Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
