Recently, food website Delish composed a list of the top donut shops in every state. Surprisingly, beating out locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco, our very own BJ Cinnamon in Folsom won best in California.

To compile the list, they used an algorithm that sorted through Yelp! reviews and star ratings. BJ Cinnamon, which was established in 2011, has a five star rating out of 430 reviews.
Delish included a Yelp! review by user Melodie L. on its page:
“Best donuts in all the land! This place is always busy and I can understand why. Their donuts are fresh, and their croissants are amazing. Try getting the donut holes when they are still hot — they melt in your mouth!”
According to the Sacramento Bee, this isn’t the first time BJ Cinnamon has received outside recognition. Back in March, Buzzfeed published a similar article using a Yelp! algorithm about the best bakeries in each state with BJ Cinnamon recognized as the best in California.
