Just as another hot weekend is approaching, the sale of Safe and Sane Fireworks is now allowed in Sacramento County through July 4th, 2018.

Depending on where you live, you may want to check and make sure they’re legal. Safe and Sane fireworks are legal in Sacramento County, Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln within city limits. However, they are banned in unincorporated areas of Placer County. Also, as they go on sale across the regions, firefighters want to remind you not to use legal fireworks on roofs or in fields or other unsafe locations.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, sparklers are the leading cause of fireworks-related injuries. The CPSC website reads:

“Parents don’t realize that young children suffer injuries from sparklers. Sparklers burn at temperatures of about 2,000 degrees – hot enough to melt some metals.”

If kids are not careful, the CPSC said, sparklers can also catch on clothing, resulting in burns.
