California and nine other states are being advised cut melon could be contaminated with salmonella. The Golden state joins 23 states being affected by the warning. Cut watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe as well as fruit salads have been recalled from Walmart, Kroger, Walgreens, Sprouts Farmers Market, Costco and Whole Foods and Amazon. If you have bought cut melon from these locations you’re being advised to throw it away. The FDA and the CDC are working with local health officials to determine the source of the contamination. At least 60 people have been sickened by cut melon between April 30th and May 28th.
