A Redding family who was forced to evacuate during the height of the Carr Fire returned home to find their pet fish still alive thanks to some unexpected help!
When the family evacuated, they left quickly, leaving behind their fish. While they were gone, the father tried to prepare his daughter by telling her that her fish, Grant, probably wasn’t going to make it having gone so long without food. Well, they were shocked to return home to find a well fed fish!
They also found a handwritten note from a firefighter with Engine 1489 that said, “Fed your fish a few sprinkles. Sorry if we weren’t supposed to.” And, yet another message on the same note from the Corning Police Department saying the fish, Grant, had been fed again August 1 at 10:33 a.m.
After a father informed his daughter that her fish was likely dead, both were in for quite a shock when they returned home to a well-fed fish! Thanks CAL FIRE Engine 1489 & Corning Police Dept. for ensuring Grant was fed while his owners were evacuated due to the #CarrFire pic.twitter.com/Ole8DoJnpf
