It’s hard to believe that Emma Stone has never starred in a Disney film yet, but she’s about to! The actress has been cast as an ’80s punk Cruella de Vil.

The latest Disney villain to get the origin story treatment is 101 Dalmations’ Cruella de Vil. Emma Stone will be playing the lead in the upcoming movie.

Craig Gillespie, who directed I, Tonya, is taking on the new project, aptly named Cruella. There will be an interesting twist to the timeline of this story, however. While the original movie takes place in the 1960s, the new film will be set in the early ’80s. Yes, that totally means that we get to see Stone play a punk version of Cruella de Vil. How awesome is that!?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this isn’t the first time that Gillespie will be working with Disney, as he’s also directed The Finest Hours and Million Dollar Arm for the studio.

No news yet on when to expect the release date.
