Downtown Sacramento Once Again Offering Free Metered Parking For The Holidays

Even though the city has gone through some big changes, one thing stays the same – free parking for the holidays!

To get you to come downtown to do your holiday shopping, once again the City of Sacramento is offering free parking in metered spaces during evenings and weekends through the holiday season.

From Front Street to 29th and from I to L streets, you can park for free after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends starting on Thanksgiving (11/23) through Christmas Day (12/25).

All other parking violations are still enforceable as posted, such as time limit restrictions, street sweeping and colored zones. For example, if parking is limited to one hour, free parking is limited to one hour.
