DMV Closing Offices Statewide For Half-Day Of Training

You’ll want to steer clear of the DMV on Wednesday, July 24.

If you’re planning on going to the Department of Motor Vehicles next month, try to avoid going Wednesday, July 24. At least through lunchtime. 

All California DMV offices will be closed for a half-day as employees are trained to serve customers seeking a Real ID.

Offices will reopen at 1 p.m. after more than 5,000 employees receive training at 183 branches, according to KCRA 3.

Beginning October 2020, You’ll need the upgraded Real ID to board planes or enter federal facilities without presenting a passport.
