Disney fans like myself, have been anxiously awaiting to hear what’s next for the Disneyland Resort! Especially after plans for the phased reopening for the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida were released weeks ago.

Today, we got the news that the Disneyland Resort is getting ready for a phased reopening plan as well. There will be changes that will go in line with safety and health guidelines as top priority! That of course means that park capacity will be an issue that Disney will have to face to go alongside social distancing guidelines.

If you plan on going to the parks, most likely you’ll have to make an reservation through the DisneyParks reservations system before you get there. If you have an annual pass, you’ll need to make a reservation, too. There aren’t too many details just yet about the reservation system. For now, this is what we know…….

The proposed plan has Downtown Disney reopening on July 9th.

Disneyland & Disney’s California Adventure Park plans to reopen on July 17th. Which happens to be on the 65 year anniversary of when Disneyland first opened!

The hotels of the Disneyland Resort, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will ease into reopening on July 23rd.

The plan still has to go through state and local government approvals. If it passes, these dates will be solidified!

Just to give you a heads up, for now the attractions/shows that draw large crowds like parades and nighttime shows, (Fantasmic & World of Color) will not be coming back just yet. As soon as they figure out a plan to have guest watch these shows without being too close together we’ll hear more info. The nice thing is there will be extra cast member stations in Downtown Disney and inside the parks. That’s where you can ask questions and get info on the new changes.

Are you going to the Disneyland Resort when it reopens or would you think about waiting for a bit to head back to the Happiest Place on Earth?
