Disney+ Pulls In Impressive Numbers With Gigantic Launch Day

Disney+ released to impressive subscription and download numbers, blowing past initial predictions for the service’s performance.

Disney+ officially released this week, and is already achieving impressive numbers in subscribers and downloads.

According to Variety, the streaming service saw a huge demand, with over 10 million users reportedly signing up within one day of the November 12 launch. This number seemingly blew past analysts initial prediction, which projected that the service would see around 8 million users by the end of 2019. However, a portion of these 10 million users include new subscribers with the seven-day free trial, so the final number may change.

Other impressive numbers included the 3.2 million Disney+ downloads in the first 24 hours. These app downloads stretched across iOS and Android, and reportedly smashed other streaming service download numbers, such as Netflix’s 662K downloads in that same time frame. This gigantic amount of traffic did prove somewhat problematic, however, as many users reported problems with logging in or accessing the service on the opening day. The service is stabilizing however, with the service planned to rollout in more countries in the coming weeks.

Have you downloaded Disney+ and tried the service yet?
