Stevie Waters didn’t speak a word until he was 5.  Diagnosed with autism at an early age Stevie has had one fascination his entire life: firetrucks.  For his 18th birthday Stevie’s brother contacted Sac Metro Fire and told them about his brother.  They cooked up an amazing surprise.  Take a look a Stevie’s reaction!  He got to use some of the equipment, tour the firetruck and even got a ride along.

Through a lot of hard work and intense tutoring Stevie is a senior at Del Campo High School.  He’s taking mainstream classes and is in a fire tech program.  His dream is to someday be a fire fighter.  Thanks to Sac Metro Fire he’s now one step closer.  Happy Birthday Stevie!  And to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, thank you for being the good.
