A CHP Officer didn’t write a driver a ticket after walking up to her window. But he did help her deliver a baby right there on highway 99.

Officer Jeffrey Lloyd was finishing up after an earlier pullover when a woman drove up behind him. She started honking her horn, in some sort of obvious distress. Officer Lloyd walked up to her passenger side window and asked her hat was happening. “I’m going to have a baby!,” she said.

The whole process only took a few minutes, the officer said. Just a couple minutes and a few pushes, the officer said. The umbilical cord was tangled, so once Officer Lloyd untangled that, he gave the baby to the mother, and the baby started crying right away. A healthy baby girl and a happy, healthy mother were tended to by emergency responders who arrived on the scene.
