California Gas Rising by 6 Cents/Gallon | Amanda & Darik

So glad we filled up for gas yesterday!  California’s new gas tax goes into effect today (July 1, 2019).  It’s an increase of 5.6 cents a gallon. 

The new tax increase is from a 2017 law designed to raise about $5 billion a year for road and mass transit programs.  

The money will be shared between state and local governments to fix potholes and rebuild crumbling roads, bridges and public transportation.
