“Burn Out” is Now a Disease? | Amanda & Darik

If you feel exhausted, negative, cynical or detached from your job you could soon be officially diagnosed with “Burn Out”.

The World Health Organization just officially classified work “Burn Out” as a new disease.  This is an important designation because soon you can get treatment and have it paid for by your health insurance.  

“Burn Out” is defined as chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed . It makes you less efficient at work. 

I guess the secret is successfully managing your workplace stress in healthy ways.  What ways do you handle stress? 

Amanda relieves stress through working out.  “I love the feeling I get after a tough workout at Orange Theory.  The harder the workout, the better I feel.” 

Darik relieves stress through travel.  “It allows me to compartmentalize and mentally disconnect.  For that moment the stress is magically erased.”
