Just in time for summer, Budweiser is making one of the most American beers ever!

The brew is called “Freedom Reserve Red Lager” and is based on a recipe our first President George Washington jotted down in his military journal 261 years ago. According to USA Today, its not a super complicated recipe, but does contain real molasses, which isn’t a very common ingredient in beer these days. It also has very specific instructions for brewing.

The beer is hitting store shelves now in limited quantities. And, very cool, a portion of the proceeds from it will be donated to spouses and children of soldiers.
