This is scary! The Secret Service is reporting out of Washington D.C. that they’ve “intercepted” some suspicious packages that were sent to not only former President Obama, but the Clinton’s home in New York, as well as George Soros, also in New York. In addition to them, some packages were sent to the White House, and to the CNN building in NYC.

So far, here’s what we know:
The secret Service is reiterating the point that the “protectees” were not in danger, as the packages were intercepted via routine mail sweeps, the same sort of screening processes that all mail goes through. An official with the White House says that “The devices appear to be rudimentary but functional.” “The devices” they’re referring to were pipe bombs, which were hidden in packages.

At this moment, recipients were Former President Obama, the Clintons, Billionaire investor and democratic donor George Soros. The CNN building in NYC has been evacuated after receiving a package as well, and the package addressed to the White House has been intercepted and is being handled. We’ll keep you updated here with the latest.

UPDATE 8:30 – So reports that a package was sent to the White House is being called “incorrect” by some officials. So far, only two packages have been confirmed; the one sent to the Obamas, and the other one sent to the Clintons. Updates will continue to come in, and we’ll continue to let you know.

UPDATE 9:00 – The FBI is saying that the package addressed to the Clintons was found “in the vicinity” of their home. The package addressed to the Obamas was intercepted in D.C. before it got near them. Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in Florida was also evacuated this morning after a package was mailed there, according to local police reporting from there. Again, updates and clarifications keep coming in, and we’ll keep updating you.

UPDATE 11:00 – It’s been a busy day with a lot of packages being intercepted. The Secret Service still says there was no package sent to the White House. Here are the rest that were recovered today:
-Packages addressed to the Clintons and the Obamas were intercepted (one each).
-A package was sent to former Attorney General Eric Holder, however it was addressed wrong and “returned to sender,” which had Florida Democratic congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s name and address. She did not send it obviously, but whomever did put her address on the return line.
-The package sent to George Soros was placed in his mailbox late Tuesday, rather than sent through the mail.
-The CNN office in New York City was evacuated, along with other businesses in the same building. There was also an envelope of “white powder” found with this package.
-San Diego Senator Kamala Harris’ office was evacuated this morning as well after a package showed up there this morning too.
-Another package was just discovered at a mail facility that was addressed to Representative Maxine Waters.
-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says there was a package delivered to his office this morning, too. That one turned out to be, according to police, an “informational package containing literature.”

Officials say that (except for Florida), all the devices found in each package are pipe bombs, “rudimentary” in construction, and all are similarly built. Information on the package in Florida hasn’t yet been released, officially.
