As everyone knows by now, Beyoncé graced the coveted Vogue September issue cover. She gave a very intimate, candid interview talking about her personal life.

The singer suffered several complications during her twins’ birth. She was swollen from toxemia and had to get an emergency C-section. “Some of your organs are shifted temporarily, and in rare cases, removed temporarily during delivery,” Beyoncé explained. “I am not sure everyone understands that. I needed time to heal, to recover.”

Six months after giving birth, the 36-year-old changed her diet to start preparing for Coachella. However, she understood that her body changed permanently and to be patient with herself.

Right now, Beyoncé is loving and accepting her body as it is.

“To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller,” she continued. “I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real. Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.”

It’s not just her physical body that needs recovering after giving birth. The singer recognizes that her mental recovery is just as important.

“I gave myself self-love and self-care, and I embraced being curvier. I accepted what my body wanted to be.”
