Sad news was announced today, with the revelation that beloved internet star, “Grumpy Cat” has sadly passed away.
According to People, Grumpy Cat, or Tardar Sauce as she was known to her family, passed away at the age of 7. In a social media post to the 12.4 million followers of the official Grumpy Cat page, Grumpy Cat’s caretakers made the sad announcement. Tabatha Bundesen, her brother Bryan Bundesen and her daughter Crystal Bundesen, from Morristown, Arizona, released a touching statement, celebrating the life and impact that Grumpy had. They revealed that Tardar Sauce had passed away peacefully alongside her family, after succumbing to complications from a recent infection.
“We are unimaginably heartbroken to announce the loss of our beloved Grumpy Cat,” the statement read about the feline, who was born on April 4, 2012. “Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world — even when times were tough. Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere,” they concluded in their emotional note.
