Aretha Franklin’s funeral will be held this Friday, Aug. 31. It’s now been confirmed that it’ll be live streamed and broadcast on TV.

It’s now been confirmed that Aretha Franklin’s funeral will be live streamed and broadcast on TV.

The Queen of Soul passed away from pancreatic cancer on Aug. 16 at 76 years old. There have been an abounding number of tributes and homages paid in her honor since her death. Her influence on music as a whole is immeasurable.

Her funeral ceremony on Aug. 31 will be a private event in Detroit. Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, and Faith Hill are among some of the artists who are slated to perform.

The general public, however, will get the chance to see the service live streamed from the Associated Press. According to NME, CNN and Fox News are set to broadcast from their channels.
