According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Nordstrom is closing its Sacramento store at Arden Fair Mall.

The Seattle-based chain explained that the store will not reopen after the coronavirus pandemic, and will most likely close permanently by August.

Nordstrom selected 16 of its 116 full-line stores to be closed permanently.

“Our goal is to best position ourselves to serve customers in each market where we operate. Because of the impacts COVID-19 has had on our business, we need to take a critical look at the physical footprint of our stores to determine which we will continue to operate,” the company said in a written statement to the Business Journal.

Arden Fair’s three other anchor stores, Sears, Macy’s and J.C. Penney are also having their fair share of financial struggles.

Nordstrom also has a store in Roseville at the Westfield Galleria as well as its three local discount stores, Nordstrom Rack.
