California Governor Gavin Newsom and the state’s Superintendent Tony Thurmond announced today what we all saw coming. California classroom will not be reopening this school year due to the coronavirus.

Out of an “abundance of caution” Governor Newsom said in today’s press conference that students would be learning virtually for the remainder of the year.

Many school districts had already been preparing for the announcement. Districts have been working to equip all students with devises like Chromebooks and internet access.

Students and parents should be checking their school district’s websites for updates.
