It has been announced that an adopted rescue dog will star in Disney’s upcoming Lady and the Tramp remake.

According to PopSugar, Monte, a two-year-old terrier mix, will star as “Tramp” in the live action remake. Monte had been at the HALO Animal Rescue in Las Cruces, NM, when animal trainers came by looking for rescue dogs to cast. The staff at the rescue then reportedly recommended Monte because of his friendly and easy temperament. This made him a perfect match for Disney, leading to Monte being adopted and cast for the remake coming to Disney+ later this year. The good news also continued, with Disney reportedly sharing that all of the rescue dogs in the film have found their forever homes.
