I’m writing this as I should be out running…..or doing my yoga. Ha! We all know that exercise can help us get stronger and leaner and so we sweat away, keeping that goal in mind to motivate us. Experts say the goal of physical activity shouldn’t be only to LOOK better, but to enjoy a better quality of life….longer. Sports are a great way to do that! You’re having so much fun (in theory) that it takes your mind off of all that work you’re doing….and all that sweat you’re creating!

Researchers from the Copenhagen City Heart Study followed over 8500 people for over 25 years and found a connection between certain sports and longer life!

1. Tennis (adds 9.7 years)
2. Badminton (adds 6.2 years)
3. Soccer (adds 4.7 years)
4. Cycling (adds 3.7 years)
5. Swimming (adds 3.4 years)
6. Jogging (adds 3.2 years)
7. Calisthenics (adds 3.1 years)

The researchers noted that the sports that involve more social interaction also added more years to your life….so, there’s something to be said for that, too. The key is probably to find something that you REALLY enjoy doing so that those extra years you’re adding are fun!
