When did the American River turn into the Amazon?  Winter rains have made the river almost too fast to float. It’s obvious given by the number of people that had to be rescued over the weekend.

KCRA reports, 30 people were rescued on the American River on Sunday, many were not wearing life jackets, and floating on store bought rafts more suitable for swimming pools.

“With the river running at about 3,500 cubic feet per second, it’s easy for rafts to get snagged in tree branches or debris under the water,” reports KCRA.

I get it, it’s hot.  A safer option, take the kids to Sunsplash and float around the lazy river in Roseville! (Amanda)
